How Read Option AI Uses Your Data

Read Option AI connects the information your business already produces so it can help answer a more useful question: what should I do next?

One system shows Read Option AI what happened in one part of your business.

More relevant systems give more evidence about how those events relate.

More connections do not make a recommendation correct — they give Read Option AI more to check.

What each connection contributes

These are the connections Read Option AI supports today, and only the information it actually reads from them.

QuickBooks Online

What it helps Read Option AI see

  • Income and expense totals from your Profit and Loss report
  • Cash on your Balance Sheet and movement on your Statement of Cash Flows
  • Money owed to you and by you, from your aging reports
  • Your company name and country

Why it matters

Financial reports are the only place Read Option AI gets money figures. Without them, Read Option AI can talk about visits, searches and reviews — but never about revenue, margin or cash.

Read Option AI only reads. Every QuickBooks call it makes is a read request. It never creates, edits or deletes a transaction and cannot move money.

Google Business Profile

What it helps Read Option AI see

  • Your listing details as Google holds them
  • Reviews and ratings, and the replies on them
  • Profile activity Google reports, such as views, calls and direction requests

Why it matters

This is how people find you before they reach your website. It helps Read Option AI judge whether local demand is the constraint, or whether the constraint sits somewhere later.

Read Option AI reads your profile, reviews and insights. It can post a reply or update only when you approve it.

Google Analytics

What it helps Read Option AI see

  • Sessions and users
  • Where visits came from (channel groups and sources)
  • Landing pages visitors arrived on
  • Conversions, when your property has conversion events configured

Why it matters

It shows what happens after someone lands on your site, so a drop in enquiries can be separated from a drop in visits.

Read-only. Read Option AI requests a read-only Analytics permission and cannot change anything.

Google Search Console

What it helps Read Option AI see

  • Clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position
  • The search terms and pages behind those numbers
  • Index coverage figures Google reports for your site

Why it matters

It shows how people find you on Google before they click, which is the step ahead of any website number.

Read-only. Read Option AI requests a read-only Search Console permission and cannot change anything.

Facebook and Instagram (Meta)

What it helps Read Option AI see

  • The Pages you manage, and the Instagram professional account linked to a Page
  • Your Page posts and their engagement counts
  • Reach and impressions for published posts, where Meta returns them

Why it matters

It records what you actually published and how it performed, so social activity can be looked at next to what happened elsewhere in the business.

Read Option AI reads your Page and account content and insights, and can publish only the posts you approve. Both Facebook and Instagram are authorised through one Meta connection. Read Option AI does not read your ad account or ad spend.

Why connect more than one system?

One source can tell Read Option AI what happened in one part of your business. Multiple sources can help Read Option AI evaluate whether events in different parts of the business may be related.

Search Console + Google Analytics

Search Console shows how many people found you on Google; Analytics shows what those visits did next. Read together, Read Option AI can tell the difference between “fewer people are finding you” and “people find you but the page loses them”. Read Option AI also knows these two partly measure the same arrivals, so it does not treat them as two independent confirmations of the same thing.

Google Business Profile + Search Console + Analytics

Profile activity, search visibility and website behaviour are three separate steps in how a customer reaches you. When several of them move in the same direction, Read Option AI can say which step actually changed instead of guessing at the whole funnel.

Google Business Profile + QuickBooks

Read Option AI follows a stated chain — reputation and profile activity, then calls, then bookings, then revenue — and reports each step only where a connected system genuinely measured it. Steps nothing measured stay blank rather than being filled in.

Meta + QuickBooks

Read Option AI can compare changes in your Meta activity with financial outcomes over corresponding periods, and decide whether the evidence supports investigating, repeating or changing an activity. That is a comparison, not proof. Read Option AI will not say a Facebook or Instagram post caused a sale — correlation is the ceiling unless real attribution evidence exists.

Things moving together is a reason to look, not proof of cause. Read Option AI says which it has.

What Read Option AI will not do

  • Invent a number to fill a gap on a screen.
  • Present correlation as proven causation.
  • Treat unavailable evidence as a zero or a poor result.
  • Infer revenue from website traffic, or customer satisfaction from review counts alone.
  • Show a figure without naming the source it came from and when it was last synced.
  • Quietly swap an estimate in for connected data — anything calculated is labelled as an estimate.

When the evidence isn’t there, Read Option AI says so.

Your business data stays your business data.

Your data helps Read Option AI understand your business. It does not become another business’s data.

You sign in with the provider

Connections use OAuth. You approve access on the provider's own screen, and Read Option AI never receives or stores your provider password. The access it is granted is stored encrypted.

Kept to your account

Connected data is stored against your account and every read is scoped to it, enforced by database access rules — not by which page you are looking at. Another customer's account cannot read yours.

Disconnect whenever you want

Disconnecting deletes the stored credential, marks the connection disconnected, and asks the provider to revoke the grant where the provider supports revocation.

Read-only versus approved actions. Google Analytics and Google Search Console are connected with read-only permissions. QuickBooks is only ever read by Read Option AI. Google Business Profile and Meta include publishing permissions, so Read Option AI can post a reply or an approved post — and only when you approve it.

Why Read Option AI sometimes says “not enough evidence”

Sometimes the most trustworthy answer is that Read Option AI does not yet have enough verified evidence to make the call. That is intentional behaviour, not a fault.

Evidence available

A connected source returned the reading. Read Option AI shows it, names the source and shows when it was synced.

Evidence unavailable

Nothing was read — not connected, not yet synced, or the provider did not return it. That is never shown as zero.

Evidence insufficient

Something was read, but not enough to support the conclusion. Read Option AI reports what it saw and stops there.
